Bubba - Dad, Mom and Sis are VERY proud of you!!!  Keep having fun and your 1st win will happen soon!

Leighton had a very busy Labor Day weekend with racing 3 nights, 2 at Port City in Tulsa and 1 at Dutton Speedway at Fort Cobb.

Friday night was not very good for Leighton but he still managed to have a good time.  Leighton started his heat race in 6th and finished in 6th.  This was his 1st time at Port City so it took a little to get use to the track.  Leighton started 15th in the feature with at total of 18 Jr. Sprints but never took the green flag as his chain broke on the pace lap.  I would like to thank the corner worker in turn 1 and the gentelman that was driving the 4-wheeler.  When an 8 year old gets back to the pits with a broken Jr. Sprint and the 1st thing out of his mouth is how nice these two people are makes a parent feel real good about the type of people that work at the track!  THANK YOU!!

Saturday started out a little wet as a small rain shower hit while Leighton was lined up for his heat race.  After reworking the track once the rain stopped the races were back on.  Leighton started 4th in his heat and finished 2nd.  He was excited and ready for his Feature.  With the top 6 spots locked in from Friday nights feature Leighton started 9th.  With a 20 lap feature Leighton work his way through the field and lap traffic.  After a red flag Leighton lined up in 8th and started working on the cars infront of him.  When the checkered flag dropped, Leighton was in 6th place knocking on the door of the 5th place car.  Allied Towing added $2,000 to the payout and Leighton was lucky enough to receive some of the added money.  This really made his day and would like to think Allied Towing for the extra cash!!

We decided that we had nothing else to do so we left Tulsa and headed across the state to Fort Cobb to race at Dutton Speedway.  There was 10 kid sprints that showed up at Dutton Speedway.  Leighton started 5th in the heat race and finished 5th and he was upset with himself.  But after watch some really good non-wing, restrictor, and outlaw sprints in the ASCS2 races he was ready for the feature.  Leighton started 10th out of 10 and worked his was up to 7th.  With 2nd - 7th running in a pack and side by side for most of the race this was one of Leighton's best races so far. (OK it is also only his 6th time to race the kid sprint)

Dad and Mom are glad to be home and ready for Tuesday so they can go to work and rest!!  Leighton had a blast and dad and mom are worn out!
